A list or things a .hack fan should know
Alright, I'm keeping this section, but there is something I want to mention about the .hack video games. .hack//INFECTION is already out, you should know that by now. I recommend you DEFINITELY buy it, because it's pointless buying the others if you don't buy this one. This is because the things you do in the .hack//INFECTION are carried over to other volumes, like you'll get items in.hack//INFECTION that you can't use until the second or third volumes. Also, your level will go into the next game, so even after you beat .hack//INFECTION, you can still go around, e-mailing friends if you made them which you should've, fighting monsters and raising your level, etc. Remember, even if it really is a single player RPG, it's representing an massive multi-player online RPG, (MMORPG) so you need to gain affection from the other characters and raise your level constantly to keep up.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU ARE AN EXPERT ON .hack//INFECTION, YOU GET THE STRATEGY GUIDE. IT WILL HELP YOU PLAY THE GAME TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL, AND YOU'LL DEFINITELY HAVE MORE FUN. There are even whole sections on raising grunties, a bestiary filled with all enemies and their stats, and an advanced hacking guide giving you the whole inside on Data Drain, Gate Hacking, and other very important things. There's even a list of weapons for each class with their stats and a list of armor with their stats. The walkthrough is incredibly detailed, and even gives a recommendation on who you should bring on your missions so everyone gets an equal amount of time with you and like you more.

.hack//MUTATION, the second volume, will be released in many stores across the U.S. on May 7, 2003. Both of the other volumes are also scheduled to come out this year. Also, there has been a lot of talk about the ad for the game, so I will tell you now, YES THE PEOPLE FROM .hack//SIGN WILL BE IN IT! OK!? Ok. ^_^

Ok, first thing you should know is the Project .hack stories, what exactly they are, and the order in which they come.

-.hack//SIGN-The T.V. Show. Came first, before Aura's awakening.
-.hack//Infection-The PS2 game, first one. Comes after .hack//SIGN, after Aura's awakening.
-.hack//Liminality-The DVD with the game, first one with .hack//Infection. Same time as the game.
-.hack//udeden-The manga. Also called .hack//dusk and .hack//The Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. Last one.

If you know these things, you're pretty well off, but here is a synopsis of .hack//SIGN since that what I've based most of my site upon.

.hack//SIGN - Tsukasa, my love, suddenly became part of an MMORPG called "The World". Not being able to log out, having very few memories of his past, and everything in the game being real to him, Tsukasa is at first confused and frightened. Then, he realizes he is stuck, and thinks of it as a good thing, as I would. He no longer has to mess with the real world. Mimiru, an online contact of his, tries her best to befriend him, and fails at first. Bear, a bad father and 44 year old novelist, tries to keep Tsukasa under his wing as a son, since he wasn't able to do that before. Subaru, a handicapped girl that plays "The World" probably to escape her situation of not being able to walk, has deep concern for Tsukasa. She doesn't get very close to him at all though until towards the end of the series. It is later found however, that some AI woman that calls herself Tsukasa's mom (who died in his real life) and an AI girl that sleeps will be what Tsukasa must conquer. I've gone deep enough here. You just need to watch the show! ^_^
